What the official update confirms
Players have reported completing tutorials and later finding that completion status did not save. The consequence can be loss of access to Squad Leader or Commander. The team investigated launch load on online services as one possible cause, but reports continued and further investigation is required.
Safe checks before reporting
Use checks that do not destroy evidence or progression.
- Confirm Patch 1.2 is installed and record the visible build.
- Complete the relevant leadership tutorial once without changing network or account mid-session.
- Return to the main menu normally and check the role state once.
- Record platform, account display-name pattern, tutorial, completion time and whether the lock returned after restart.
- Do not delete local or cloud save data unless official support instructs you.
Do not confuse it with the colon username bug
The Patch 1.2 post separately lists a Patch 1.3 target where players cannot access Tutorials or the Practice Range if their username contains a colon (:). That access bug is different from completing a tutorial and losing its saved status. Report which stage fails.
Why reproduction details matter
The team says the progress-loss issue has been difficult to reproduce internally. A useful report names the platform, current build, tutorial, whether the completion banner appeared, the menu path taken after completion and the point when the role became locked again.
Frequently asked questions
Is tutorial progress loss fixed in Patch 1.2?
The latest official status still marks lost completion Under Investigation. The Patch 1.2 post does not claim a fix for it.
Should I delete my save?
No. No official source cited here recommends deleting save data, and doing so can remove useful evidence or other progress.
Why is Squad Leader locked?
Leadership training is required by design, but a confirmed progress-saving issue can also leave the role locked after apparent completion.
