Privacy policy
This policy explains what the HLLV Field Manual processes when you read the site, how optional analytics consent works, and how to change your choice.
What this site is
HLLV Field Manual is a public reference site. It does not provide user accounts, accept payments, or ask visitors to submit names, email addresses, gameplay data, or other content. Hosting and security are provided through Cloudflare, whose systems may process request metadata such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp, and security signals to deliver and protect the site.
Analytics used on content pages
Plausible aggregate analytics
The site uses a self-hosted Plausible Analytics script to understand aggregate traffic such as page views, referring sites, approximate country, device type, browser, and operating system. Plausible is configured without analytics cookies and is not used here to create advertising profiles. The script is not included on the 404 page.
Optional Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics 4 (GA4), using this site's independent measurement ID G-Z25B7T7EKC, helps measure page visits and interactions so the field manual can be improved. GA4 does not load and no request is sent to Google until you select Allow analytics.
If allowed, Google may process page URL, referrer, browser and device information, approximate location derived from network information, and interaction events. GA4 may set first-party cookies including _ga and _ga_*. Advertising storage, ad user data, ad personalization, Google signals, and ad-personalization signals remain denied.
Your analytics choice
- Before a choice: Google Analytics stays completely offline.
- Allow analytics: the site first records your choice in browser local storage under
hllv.analytics-consent.v1and only then loads GA4. - Storage unavailable: if the browser cannot save that choice, GA4 stays offline and the choice panel remains open on the current page. On a later page or visit, use Analytics preferences in the footer to try again; the site does not display an automatic prompt.
- Decline: GA4 remains offline. Site content and tools continue to work.
- Browser privacy signals: Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track values
1oryesoverride an earlier grant and keep GA4 off.
You can withdraw or change consent at any time with Analytics preferences in the footer. Withdrawal stops new GA4 measurement in the current browser and deletes accessible GA cookies used by this site. It cannot retract requests already sent before withdrawal. Your choice is synchronized to other open tabs for this domain where the browser supports local-storage events.
Reading lists and squad briefings
Saved guides and read states use local storage under hllv-notebook-v1. Squad readiness uses keys beginning hllv-brief-v1:. These features do not create an account or send your checklist to a server. Fixed interaction names (guide saved, read or shared; briefing shared or completed) may be recorded in aggregate by Plausible and, only after analytics consent, GA4. Search text, clipboard contents and individual checkbox values are not sent as event properties. Browser privacy signals disable these custom interaction events. They remain until you remove an item, reset a checklist or clear site data. Shared briefing links include only faction, map and task in the URL fragment; personal completion is excluded. A recipient or the messaging service you choose can see the shared configuration. If storage is blocked, the planner still works for the current visit and explains that progress could not be saved.
Processors and transfers
Cloudflare processes requests to host and secure the site. The self-hosted Plausible service processes aggregate analytics. Google acts as the GA4 analytics provider only after consent. These providers may process data in countries outside your own under their applicable contractual and legal safeguards. The site does not sell personal information or use analytics for targeted advertising.
